This item is based on a book from the New York Library which was digitised and published by Google. This has already been available in the Picture Archive Gallery on this site. This version however differs from all the others in that each page is searcheable for its contents via the website search engine. It also has a single page active index which allows you to access a description of each of the 81 paintings. To see an engraving of the picture in question you need to follow the arrow at the top of the page with the description. In the origanal catalogue there are blank pages separating different parts. Some of these have been filled with enlargements and rotated images of the engravings as well as photos showing some of the rooms that housed the paintings.

The number in front of the name of the painting refers to the order they were placed in the Leigh Court rooms. The pictures were all sold many of them ending up in private collections. It would be interesting to find out where they are now and to obtain a colour image of the painting if possible. It could be used to fill the many blank pages remaining.
