Wednesday July 22, 2020
Car parking charges will be introduced to Leigh Woods car park from 22 July 2020. The machines will accept card payment only, to avoid the risk of cash handling.
Car Parking Charges
- Up to 2 hours £2.00
- Up to 4 hours £4.00
Regular visitors can save money with a membership pass
This costs £80 per year, less than £7 a month or £1.55 a week, and in addition to free parking there is a range of other benefits. See further details here.
Leigh Woods has increased in popularity over the years and regular visitors will have noticed that at peak times the car park suffers from lack of capacity issues and there is often inconsiderate parking along the avenue. Changes have been made to encourage more sensible parking and to protect the avenue, which forms part of a wider Scheduled II landscape, and create additional capacity.
Forestry England will use the money generated from these charges to reduce the cost of managing the woodland ensuring it can be looked after for generations to come.
