Our Village Hall is in Church Road opposite The George Public House, right in the centre of the village. Mrs Yda Richardson who at that time resided in the Manor House gave the Hall to the Parish in the 1920s. The Hall is owned and run by the Parish Council which employs the caretaker.
It is an impressive and intimate Victorian building in the heart of our community and considered to be the nicest Village Hall in North Somerset. The Hall is now licensed for the sale of alcohol. Following recent refurbishment it is available for a variety of activities including private functions and now has a more flexible space that can take between 80 and 100 people in the main Hall depending upon the use.
The new and removable stage gives a larger useable floor area when a stage isn't required. There's a Sound System with CD player and iPod connection, Wi-Fi, a Loop System for the hard of hearing and stage lighting. There's also a fixed Digital HR projector with an HDMI connection, wired into the sound system, with an electrically operated screen against the back wall. Behind the stage there's a large kitchen with full catering facilities for up to 100 people. The John Butler Room is ideal for business meetings and seats up to 12 people.
The Hall is an ideal venue for community events, family functions, children’s parties, fund-raising events, workshops, toddler groups, private and public meetings.
